The importance of taking time out

Yesterday I took time out of the business to meet with three other business owners and work on my business.

Being a small business owner and an employer can be very stressful and, at times, lonely.

But 'CEO Days' as we call them (that's not what our WhatsApp Group is called) are an important bit of time to work on our businesses together.

Each of us has a different area of expertise and a different perspective as a potential customer that many of us forget when we are constantly working IN our businesses.

I went into the meeting absolutely set upon a particular course of action, but thanks to some intelligent (and sometimes blunt) questioning for my fellow 'CEOs' I realised that I already had what I was looking for, but hadn't realised the potential to meet these 'needs' in a different way.

I was also able to help three other business owners who had their own worries, concerns, questions and plans, and as a team we enjoyed an amazing few hours (and some delicious lunch) working on building our own and each others businesses. We all came away happier, cleverer, more focussed and best of all, knowing that we are not in this on our own.

I can't wait for our next 'CEO Day' in September! Now it's time to get some action happening.
